When a white supremacist couple enters the hospital to have a baby, they immediately request to have their nurse, Ruth, who is black, reassigned.  But when the baby goes into cardiac distress when Ruth is on duty, she hesitates before performing CPR, causing a tragedy that puts her on trial.
