Somerset County Story Stroll

In 2020, the Somerset County Story Stroll began as a collaborative, county-wide project between the libraries of Somerset County to promote literacy, exercise and get fresh air at a variety of locations in Somerset County. Each site hosts a children’s book that is cut into 15 separate stations and posted for people to read as they walk between the stations. The project was originally updated monthly at each participating library.

At present, the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library operates the Story Stroll to celebrate holidays and major events across Uptown Somerset. The current route of the Story Stroll can be seen below:

Our upcoming Story Stroll for the 2026 Uptown Earth Day Trail is “Rise to the Sky: How the World’s Tallest Trees Grow Up” by Rebecca E. Hirsch Take a look next time you’re Uptown!
