The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is now open!

As of June 15th, we have reopened the library’s main reading room for browsing, computer use and limited in-person services. We are observing our usual summer hours: Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm, and Saturday from 9am-1pm. Our Genealogy Room and basement (including the restrooms and children’s library) will remain closed until further notice. We will also continue offering curbside pick-up service: learn more here

Banished From Johnstown: Racist Backlash in PA tells the history of one of the worst racial injustices in American History, when 2,000 African-Americans and Mexicans were forced out of a community at gunpoint in 1923 following a racially charged police shooting.
