The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is currently closed to the public until further notice

In keeping with Governor Tom Wolf’s directive to limit the spread of COVID-19, we will be closed for in-person services until further notice and at least through March 29th, 2020. Please stay tuned for more details as the situation continues to evolve. During this time, limited library services may still be available by email (info@maryslibrary.com) or phone (814-445-4011) during our normal business hours of Monday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 9am-4pm.

We also will be promoting use of our online collections and digital resources remotely. Stay tuned to this webpage for more information that will be posted in the near future.

Banished From Johnstown: Racist Backlash in PA tells the history of one of the worst racial injustices in American History, when 2,000 African-Americans and Mexicans were forced out of a community at gunpoint in 1923 following a racially charged police shooting.
