The Mary S. Biesecker Public Library announces our NEW Library Laptop Program! Through the Digital Connectivity Technology Program of the PA Broadband Development Authority, we have received 20 laptops for public use. Computers can be used to learn new job skills, telehealth and digital learning. Nine laptops will be available for free checkout for job searching and skills learning through Metrix Learning and SkillUp PA, or to access free health resources online.

Additionally, we are offering open lab hours every Monday (12:30-2:30), Wednesday (12:30-2:30 and 5:00-6:00) and Thursday (12:30-2:30) to anyone who wishes to attend. Come and learn how to use a laptop and basic computer skills, access online job resources and online health information. Call 814-445-4011 to learn more or register.

This program is made possible by a Closing the Digital Divide grant through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, along with the Somerset County Community Fund and Fund for the Future.

The Biesecker Library will also offer TeleHealth services to patrons. Through a grant from the COVID 19 ARPA PA Digital Technology Program, we have received a dedicated laptop enabling patrons to access online appointments and health information. Sign up at the front desk to use this laptop. This dedicated laptop must be used in the library. If you need assistance, please ask a librarian for help.
