Blending in with 1830 Philadelphia society, Jamie is about to tell his aristocratic lover, Caroline, the truth about his identity when he discovers his servant, Pan, has been sold into slavery.  Jamie heads to the South to repay his debt to Pan.  Meanwhile, Caroline’s father reveals Jamie’s secret, costing Jamie everything.  Jamie and a slave named Sukey must survive the Great Dismal Swamp if they hope to lead Pan to the Underground Railroad.
