Rachel dreams of life in Paris, but a forced marriage on the beautiful island of St. Thomas soon suffocates the woman who has long lived life on her own terms.  When Rachel’s husband suddenly dies, she loses herself in a scandalous love affair with the man’s nephew, who arrives from France to handle his father’s affairs.  Rachel’s actions will have serious consequences for her dear son, revolutionary painter Camille Pissarro.
