This victorian-era story follows the recently widowed Margaret Lennox as she starts a new position as a governess at Hartwood Hall.  At first everything seems normal, but Mrs. Lennox quickly discovers that there are several secrets floating around the property and the people who live on it.  There is an excessive number of locks on the front door, she is not allowed into half of the manor, and the tension amongst the small staff all set Margaret on her path to unraveling the entire mystery.
